Life is going to be hectic the next few days. If you don’t here from me again in the next four or five days, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas.

Not long before one Christmas, when I was either in late elementary school or early middle school, I was being bad. I can’t remember what I was doing, I do know it got the typical parent response around the holidays, “If your not good Santa won’t bring you presents. He brings bad boys and girls switches and coal.” I scoffed and told them there was no Santa. So he decided to prove me wrong. Christmas morning rolls around and I am excited, I had been expecting a new bike and couldn’t wait to get it. When we ran into the living room my brother and sister had all their presents but me, I had a stocking full of switches and coal. Of course I began to ball my head off. I couldn’t believe it, there was a Santa and all those warnings I thought were just to scare kids into being straight were true. But I did learn something else about Santa, he can’t help giving children toys. The switches and coal were just as a warning, “If you don’t believe in me I will not bring you presents in the future. Take heed.” He had hidden my presents in the dining room, with my new bike. But since that day I still remember, there is a Santa.
Since I have grown up he has changed some what. Now he knows that I need money more than gifts so he leaves $100 dollars in my stocking, but it is Santa. I believe it.

The holidays have been busy. I haven’t had a chance to post the last couple of days. I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was wonderful and you spent time with family and loved ones, or at least tolerated those you had to spend time with, which seems to be the case for many people.
