6/11/08 True Believers by Joe Queenan. It is a look at why fans follow certain teams, even if the teams are abysmal, ie the Cubs. It was written before the Red Sox recent streak of World Series wins so it is a little dated that way. I let my sister borrow my Hitler book I was going to read so I haven’t gotten back to that yet.

6/1/08 Men at Arms by Terry Pratchett. I needed a quick read and Pratchett’s books are always entertaining and insightful. Is there a king in Ankh-Morpork? One man thinks so. See this reading guide to pick an order to read the books. There is one book this does not include and that is the newest Making Money which should be included in the Industrial Revolution line.
5/27/08 Hood by Stephen R Lawhead. A retelling of the Robin Hood story, set in Wales.
5/23/08 The Truth by Terry Pratchett. There is a newspaper in Ankh-Morpork. Remember, the truth will make you fret.
Yes I decided I needed something lighter than a book about Hitler. I will read I Am Adolf Hitler after this.
5/10/08 A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller Jr. 12 centuries after the annihilation of civilization by nuclear holocaust, there is an ancient artifact that brings hope to the survivors. I just started reading so I’m not sure how it ends.
4/21/08 Judgement on Nuremberg by William J. Bosch. The author looks at the attitudes of Americans from Presidents to the man on the street, dealing with the trials and aftermath of Nazi War Criminals at Nuremberg.
3/28/08 The Stand by Stephen King. A deadly virus has been unleashed. I don’t know much past that.
3/21/08 The Hunt for the Red October by Tom Clancy. Most of you have read this or watched the movie so you know what it is about. Find that sub Mr. Ryan.
3/10/08 Pawn of Prophecy by David Eddings. The first in a series. A young boy thinks he is destined to be a farmer, but fate has other plans.
3/7/08 Kender, Gully Dwarves, and Gnomes This is a collection of short stories from the Dragonlance Realm. Check out “Definitions of Honor” by Richard A. Knaak, it is one of the best short stories I have ever read. If it wasn’t set in a fantasy realm it would probably get more attention than it does.
