The same Christians who support these sorts of measures should take some time and think about how they'd feel if the government started to restrict the right of heterosexual couples to marry in some way based on a simple majority vote. As Gerald Ford once said quite aptly, "[a] government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have."

The simple fact is, there is no good reason for government to be in the marriage business ... outside of recognizing the contract entered into by the people gettin' hitched.</description>
